Indonesian Blue Opalized Wood & Sterling Silver Earrings
Indonesian Blue Opalized Wood & Sterling Silver Earrings
Feel treasured when you wear these Indonesian Blue Opalized Wood & Sterling Silver Earrings!
Extremely rare and lovely, Indonesian Blue Opalized Wood is a cherished material used by lapidary artists for creating stunning pieces of jewelry. The material was first found as pebbles and rounded stones in streams and near the slopes of three volcanoes in the West Java Province. The source deposit, an ancient petrified forest covered with pyroclastic flow from a volcanic eruption, was located in 2017 on the steep slopes of Mt. Tjakalak. Over thousands of years, the woods’ organic material was replaced with opaline silica rich in copper, iron and manganese minerals. These rich minerals are responsible for the amazing colors in the stone.
The bail and earring wires are authentic 925 sterling silver.
This stone is a natural color, no dyes or heat treatment have been used. It was photographed without filters on automatic setting in natural light; however, slight color variations may occur due to digitization. Natural stones can have nooks and crannies, inclusions or small cracks, these distinguishing features lend character to the piece.
